I've gone through 4 accidents so far in my life. 1 of them, the guy just speed away after banging me from the side, leaving me and my gf in the middle of the road. Another 2, the driver came out and look at his car first WITHOUT giving a shit to see if i'm even alive. The last one, a big ass truck driver bang me from the side, and drag me a good 5m. This low educated truck driver was the only person human enough to run out from his truck and ask me "Are you ok?" first. He even called me later that night and the next day to check if i'm ok. This poor guy even wanted to pay for my medical fees. I respected this guy more than anyone else. It shows, even if he was poor, he has a true heart of gold. Money and status means shit when you can't even be human to others. People, take today to open your eyes to the people that would need your help regardless of race or age. Lastly, to the 3 assholes who left me bleeding on the asphalt, i hope your nights are plague by your selfish ways.

I'm taking a break from photography and in some sense slowing down my uploads on my Flickr account and also on updating my blog. Reason? Coz I'm in the process of writing. Yes. Writing. So, don't worry much people coz I will be updating when I have the time and I will be uploading more photos (coz i have them just that it's not edited yet). June and July will be busy and any updates (if I'm allowed to say it) would be done here coz I'm Wan, the WanLeaks dude. Here's a little sneak peak on what I'm writing...

:: Being in a band ::

This 2 videos below are literally the 2 videos that got me wanting to be in a band, wanting really really bad to write my own songs and play it. That was back in 2002 (i think). Close to 9 years on, the passion is still alive and strong. Soon i guess.... Can't wait for July!!!

My photographs would be part of an exhibition called "BUD Student Photography exhibition". Please feel free to make your way down to Objectifs (56A Arab Street from Mon - Fri, 11am to 7pm / Sat, 12pm to 6pm) to view this cool exhibition. My work is titled "Where the wild kids are".

Been busy with life lately. Writing, snapping and more writing. Interesting things to look out for in the next few months. Wait for it.

:: Beginner Photography Class ::

Today marks the day where I'm finally done with my beginner photography class. Awesome 6 weeks of learning and meeting new people. Would like to say thanks to my art teacher, Terence, for really teaching us what photography really means. His actions pretty much speaks louder than his words. He defined the term 'passion' to me by his actions. This dude is really someone I truly look up to and respect.

Exciting news. Some of my photos will be exhibited at Objectifs next month (date will be published here when I remember). I've uploaded the photo project I did for my beginner class here. Please feel free to take a look at it.

More exciting news coming up soon. Been really busy to blog, let alone have a good 8 hours of sleep. Taking care people!!!

Something exciting happening this October. Wait for it. In the mean time, here's something cool I took.

:: My toys ::

Now, this post would be confusing to some people. I've always been a gear head. I'm so into musical instruments. Not until recently, when I purchased a new guitar did I actually sit and count the number of instruments I have. Now, this list is divided by 2 groups. Active and in-active. The names in () is the nickname i gave to them.

In-active instruments

1) Samick SG - First guitar used in first ever Oligarchy gig. Not using it as the neck was stolen.
2) Yamaha classical guitar - Bought in Batam. Bridge broke off.
3) TGM Acoustic Guitar (Black)- first acoustic guitar that I bought. Retired it. Been with me for 10 years.
4) TGM Acoustic Guitar (Brown) - 2nd acoustic guitar I bought. Not using it cos the tuning pegs and the action of the guitar is too high. Gonna fix it in the near future.
5) TGM Jazz Bass (Da Arsehole) - The neck and pickup on this one really sucks. Hate it. Thus the nickname.

Active instruments
1) Samick Strat (Cruella) - Modified this to a 1 humbucker 1 volume guitar. Fitted with a JH Humbucker. Got this in 2001. Played a few gigs with Oligarchy.
2) Samick Precision Bass (Da Jerk) - Modified with 1 split p's, zombie pickups and a single volume know. Most favourite bass guitar ever! Was used in Oligarchy for a few shows.
3) No brand semi acoustic (Rusty) - Got this in 2007. No brand. Love the feel of it. All acoustic shows with Oligarchy was done on this.
4) Squier Telecaster (Obey) - Fitted with Alnicos humbuckers. Main gig guitar after the SG. Used in all Oligarchy's recording. Love this to hell!
5) Epiphone SG (19) - Newest guitar. Love the feel. Would probably change the humbuckers in the future.

So that's what I have now. Knowing me, I'm gonna get more. So here's a short wish list of gadgets and guitars to get.

I would also be adding a Epiphone Les Paul JR to my collection once I have the time to fix it up. So many things to buy, so little time and money. Well, I've got the whole year to think and experiment before entering the studios.
